April 2011

What a lovely day (non Stampin' Up! related!)

Well, it's been an absolutely lovely day here in the UK!  Flags have been flying, the weather stayed dry even though it was forecast as rain and storms and we have a new Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.

It's been on the TV all day here in this house and I've suprised myself by how much I've loved it all.  There is a real feeling of togetherness and being proud to be British in the air today and it's all down to the two people pictured above!

Congratulations Wills & Kate!

Stampin' Up! Easter Treatbox

Well, haven't we had an absolutely glorious couple of weeks with the weather?  I don't think that I can ever remember an Easter holidays where it has been fantastic.  It's been hotter than most of Europe and I've got a suntan! In April!

It has been so lovely to have had the last two weeks off of work too.  I feel that this has been the first holiday that has actually felt like a holiday as half terms are only a week and the only other two weeks was at Christmas which lots of other people have off work too.  But we've been off since April 8th and only went back today.  It's been wonderful - I've had time to catch up on some little jobs that have been waiting far too long to be done and feel a bit like I am on top of things (hopefully, I'm not speaking too soon LOL!).

The Easter Treat Box above is a little late given that Easter is now over but this can be used for any occasion, not just Easter.  It uses two of the Stampin' Up! Top Note Dies with a box in the middle.  Add the obligatory Scallop Trim Border Punch, some patterned paper, the Four Frames new stamp set, a button and some twine and you're done!

I hope you are all making the most of the wonderful weather as it's getting a little breezier as the day and week goes on.

Have fun!

Stampin' Up! Beautiful Wings

Are you enjoying the fabulous weather?

Isn't it absolutely beautiful at the moment.  There has definately been a real feeling of summer this week as the weather has got hotter and hotter.  It really felt like the Mediterranean this week, all I need is a swimming pool in the back garden and I'd be very happy :)

So, this week has continued with me getting lots of jobs done that have been sitting around for a while.

On Saturday 7th May, I'll be at a Second Hand Craft Sale at St Francis Hall, Horley from Midday and so today, I've been sorting out lots of bits for that.  When I moved all my craft stuff into the conservatory a year ago, I had every intention of clearing out as I went and then I had a Mini Catalogue launch party and it all went to pot and I had to throw everything back in there again and it's never really been sorted out.  So , this afternoon, I went about sorting bits of it out ready for the sale.  Oh dear, I have ALOT of craft stuff - but if you want to get yourself some bargains, why not join me and others as our unopened craft excess becomes your bargains!!

Above is the card that Zoe and I made as our swaps that we took to Michelle's day last Sunday.  For those that are coming to team training in May, then you'll be getting one of these too as we made enough for both events together, so don't copy this card to do as your swaps for that event LOL!

Right, well we've got a lovely long weekend with some Spring House and Garden cleaning planned so wish me luck - I could have quite the aches and pains soon :)

Enjoy the weather and have fun,

Stampin' Up! Training Day

Well, I promised to be back and here I am.

Although I have to say that the sun is shining and I'm sitting in what feels like a greenhouse (conservatory) with it being so lovely.  Unfortunately, there are still lots of jobs to do and so I've been working.  Some of you know that my conservatory is my work area and whilst it's great for natural light and a good view, it's freezing in the winter and boiling in the summer and all that sunlight isn't great for card either!

So, what has been going on over the last week?

Well, we are a week into the school holidays already here and I have to say, it's weeks like this that I LOVE my job!!!

Although Stampin' Up! is my job too, I've worked in a school since September and I'm loving the time off now.  I've benefitted from Christmas off and a couple of half term weeks, but this Easter holiday together with the Summer Break is definately the holidays to look forward to!

Anyway, I've had a really productive week and caught up with lots of little outstanding bits and even getting a little ahead of myself!

Yesterday, Zoe, Kim and I headed off to Michelle Last's training session.  Michelle earnt herself the #1 Demo of the Year at last years Stampin' Up! Convention and she is the nearest Demonstrator to me that does team training.  Like myself and everyone else who does team training, Michelle opens up her training to members of other teams too.  Now, most things I end up attending I'm either organising or teaching at and Zoe and I decided  we wanted a "jolly", so off we went and Kim Fee came too!

It was a lovely day and it's always good to see how other people do similar things that you do.  Above is one of the cards that we made.  It's using the Stampin' Up! Set Strength & Hope which I love and will be doing more things with it soon - watch out for details of that!

Okay, that's it for today.  My aim is to be back a bit more regularly this week, so I'll be sharing more with you soon,

Hope you are enjoying this sunshine and if you're on school holidays - don't kill your children!

Have fun!
